It might sound far fetched but here goes: Circadian Rhythms aka Dj Deg brought techno to Belgium before anyone was ready for it. The 1990s collective “Bad Woofers Posse” formed with lifelong friend Mike DMA and their “PK” warehouse parties served as fertile ground for the young producer.Steeped in this new atmosphere, Deg locked himself up in his bedroom studio at his parents’ place and started developing his interpretation of the freshly imported techno/house sound. In the Belgian way. Combining emotional synth play with neck-breaking drum patterns, sequenced like dreams forever chasing the climax.BM11 collects six unreleased takes from this almost forgotten period (1989 – 1994).
Delsin continues to celebrate the overlooked brilliance of Simon Walley's exquisite electronica works as CiM with a deluxe reissue of his 2000 debut album Reference. Spanning 24 beautifully crafted miniatures, this is one of the definitive overviews of Walley's intimate, introspective electro-techno sound. From the crunch of bit-crushed drums to dreamy, swooning pads, everything in the CiM soundworld feels positively considered and elegant. His music has attracted a devoted following from those immersed in the world of deep techno and electronica. The concise run times of his musical ideas ensures there's not an inch of plastic wasted on elongated intros or endless repetition. That said, fitting the whole of Reference onto one disc for the original deFocus pressing was something of a squeeze, with some tracks reserved for the CD only. With this newly mastered pressing, all 24 tracks are present across two 12"s, giving Walley's peerless sound more room to breathe. Delsin and sister label Ann Aimee have a relationship with Walley that reaches back to the late 90s, and they picked the thread of communication up last year with timely reissues of the Service Pack and Series Two EPs. Earlier in 2021, Delsin also released Unselected ProTracker Mods, a collection of previously unreleased archival works from a furtive but undoubtedly prolific artist.
Francesca returns to Pleasure Club with yet more excursions into the ethereal with the Homology EP, touching on dub techno, ambient soundscapes and electro futurism. As the name suggests this record explores the concept of similarity of a structure, or function of parts of different origins, based on their descent from a common evolutionary ancestor. Following on from her ‘The Inside Out’ LP of 2020, this time Francesca explores the outer realms of electronica whilst always coming back to the core essence of her vision. This EP also serves as an announcement of her forthcoming album and label, Goodnight Cowboy. A collaborative project between herself and Remi Mazet which will look to explore slower tempos and unchartered textural planes.
Rolling on with number fifteen we welcome back the mighty Amos Bellot working under a couple of alias'. Hands down one of our favourite producers to ever do it! All tracks were produced in the 90's, taken from DAT and remastered for the occasion'
