Emerged from the debris of Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile, Tecnologías Elementales is a platform run by the DJs Diamin and F.A.N.G.O. Each release is conceived as a cognitive frequency towards the intervention of the global nervous system, with the ability to affect minds and bodies alike.

Tecnologías Elementales are ancestral and futuristic tools for inner and outer exploration: musical artifacts that seek to promote local knowledges and favor the perceptive mutations necessary to balance our lives in times of collapse.

Mutualism is defined as an interaction between species that is beneficial to both.

For this series we invite Qik from Argentina and Kamila Govorčin from Chile, as cases of different artists coming from different environments cooperating with each other.

Each side of the record is a world of its own, but its mere presence casts light on the other, reshaping our listening and allowing a stable equilibrium to be reached.

In the early 2000s, Buffle represented in Brussels the fluid and smiling face of free improv, with a psychedelic vibe. Benjamin Franklin (Lexi001, 2008), Xavier Garcia Bardon (solo in Saule, on SubRosa, 2002) and Emmanuel Gonay never lost their playful and genuine minds in the many projects they later developed (Geographique, Humus) and Lexi Disques has long been looking forward to this collaboration. This time, Xavier Garcia Bardon and Emmanuel Gonay take what it seems to be the opposite of their previous ways : thinking ahead, composing sounds by sounds in a studio, assembling them in a calculated chaos. The result is surprisingly in line with their different incarnations as well as a pure lab record. Expect delicate and meditative, time expanding composition on Aταραξία (Ataraxia), adventurous, almost epic sound exploration on Kαταστροφήαταστροφή (Catastrophè).). Aταραξία is a timeless moment of stillness in your day, 2 minutes of peace in this hectic reality. Western civilization inherited from the ancient Greeks, gods were already indifferent to humans and epicurism is more alive than ever. Aταραξία means the capacity to accept things how they are, to enjoy the now without any trouble of mind. Kαταστροφήαταστροφή is another perspective on the present times and we can all feel it now, can’t we ? But the disaster will not necessarily be depressing, it can as well be joyfully embraced if it happens anyway. This record might be for this reason the perfect cure for these days.
First vinyl edition of these homemade electronic tracks, recorded in a primitive bedroom studio between 1993 and 1994 by Mahk Rumbae, a British born fan of synths and drum machines. A surprising crossover, as it alternates between the soft balearic sound heat and the urban indu-electro rigour.

ISLE011 is a collection of cassette recordings made in Athens by Christos Chondropoulos over the last five years. Coming from an avant-garde percussion background, Christos calls upon themes of ancient Greek folklore and musical tradition through a futurist lens depicting robotic societies in post-human harmony. He constructs worlds reminiscent of Marcello Giombini’s Mondial Folk series or Umiliani’s exoticised Omicron outings. By looking to the future rather than the far-off past, he builds upon these early instances of technologically charged cultural geography and presents an authentically Greek reading of a parallel Athenian basin. Where his last work for 12th Isle explored once-forbidden tunings and unplaceable tonalities, these recordings further expand on the artist’s simultaneous concern for heritage and imaginary projection. Across the final Side D, Chondropoulos explores themes of maternal love present across the album by working with local singer Sofia Sarri to record six piercing, beautiful acapella phrases.
Ethereal Logic, the experimental project of in-house producers S.Moreira and Indi Zone, returns with another extraordinary trip, this time accompanying their characteristical exploratory soundscapes with hypnotic tribalistic patterns.
