What Can Be Done When Nothing Can Be Done Turning into a label and putting out our first record was an exhilarating process. Shoutouts again to everyone who’s bought Aroent’s “Eleese” EP, gave it airplay or left positive feedback. All of this certainly left us hungry for more, which is why we couldn’t be happier to announce our next EP, AWK002 - “Nines” by Lårry. After solid recent releases on Super Hexagon and Fusion Diagnostics, our dear Lårry goes from strength to strength with this versatile and atmospheric four tracker. From idiosyncratic techno swirls to emotive peak time bangers, every track has its own story and character, all served with immaculate sound design and the inimitable Lårry touch. Without further ado, we’ll stop our excited rambles and let the music do the talking. Thanks for the continued support and we hope you enjoy!
Following up from the Future Horizons EP by DJ Perception, we're incredibly excited to present another three track UKG infused project, this time from hugely talented HighriseHighrise steps up to the mark and delivers the Distant Skies EP with signature kick and crunch, whilst adding a unique soulful and bassline flare that we've seldom seen elsewhereAll vinyl orders come with Timehri stickers and insert EXCLUSIVE to the vinyl releaseLimited 300 press
One year on from the passing of label co-founder and artist Alex Smith, Flash as a Rat returns with its 6th instalment. Digby, co-founder and brother to Alex, continues the siblings' form for emotionally intelligent and sound focussed minimal. 'Briefmacken' bumps through waves of kicks and glitches to arrive at moments of peaceful clarity, whilst 'Constantly' swings with off kilter hisses and pops around a metallic organ sequence, making it's claustrophobic way towards a beautifully layered string section at the crescendo. The typically pared back artwork this time inverts the colour scheme from the brothers' first ever release on their own label, marking the record simultaneously the ending of one chapter and the beginning of the next.
A reference work, a body of knowledge, a record of human endeavour: this archival release of works from Arcarsenal's fertile collaboration in the period 2011–2016 is all of those things. Pressed on its two discs you will find, in the duo's own words, the 'broken flowers that needed just a little care and attention to bloom'. And exquisite flowers they are, rooted in the reduced formality of minimalism, yet prone to frequent and unabashed florescence. Ranging from their very earliest productions, made with limited gear, through to later recordings from a fully-equipped studio, the tracks move from techno to dub and house and into blissful after-hours and ambient, all with the rich and spacious imprint that is their own. Most of these tracks have been firm favourites on the dancefloor, whether played by other DJs or Arcarsenal themselves, yet this is the first time any of them have seen an official release. This 'Compendium' is a record of Arcarsenal's past achievements; only time will tell what new endeavours the two may pursue.
Channeling her innermost depths, Oshana reveals her widest body of work to date, “Disciples of Dystopia;” a multi-faceted expression of the emotions, influences, and sounds that have guided her on her musical journey. The album aptly marks the fourth release on her very own, Psionic label, and is the first double 12” in the catalogue.
Another year, another episode brought by Amorfo and its crew which continues to grow. This episode comes with two tracks from Arturo Hernzama, which is his first ever release on vinyl, he delivers two tracks: "Pampanitos" & "Rio Verde" both are dancefloor killers. After the heat brought by Arturo, Santiago Uc comes with "Roquedal", fresh and gentle as a summer breeze, letting Bruno Di Paolo finish this ep with "Siniestra Felicidad" a song that reflects his love for not letting you understand completely what he is up to.
