The Spinning Plates imprint returns this October with Club Winston’s ‘Guzzle’ EP, comprised of four gritty club workouts from the London artist.

The UK’s Club Winston has been steadily unveiling a series of tripped-out club ready cuts via his own UKGEORGE label over the past few years along with remixes from the likes of D.Tiffany and Tim Reaper. Here though we see him join the roster of Spinning Plates with his latest collection of works, an imprint that’s played host to material from the likes of SHKN, Neksha, Andy Rantzen, DJ Spider and Bruno Schmidt since its inception in 2015.

Title-track ‘Guzzle’ leads, laid out across five minutes with a menacing arpeggio bass lead, howling atmospherics and crunchy analogue drums. ‘Hell’ follows and tips the focus over to heavy doses of sub bass, intricately dynamic, modulating drums and intense swells of processed synths throughout.

Opening the flip-side is ‘Chart’, upping the energy levels with a pacey 4/4 drum groove while twitchy resonant synth lines, low-end pulsations and cavernous reverberations ebb and flow throughout. ‘Partook’ then rounds out the release, a cinematic ambient composition which lays focus on swirling, textural pads, glitched out resonant bleeps and fluttering low end hits.

Tolga continues his journey into space, reaching hyper speed soon.
Stunning bit of research by Andrea Dallera (Dualismo Sound) and Gabriele Casiraghi who've been meticulously digging Italian bins. After endless sifting through this crucial time in Italian dance floor music, we are presented with their final distillation of this transitory period between 80's afro cosmic and Italo's peak into early 90's rave and Italo house era. In their words: “The whole concept was born as we started to find records that were into a kind of hybrid zone that was clearly pre-announcing some of the huge musical changes brought by the 90’s. The sound at play can be understood as looking closely to Belgian New Beat, Uk's Acid House and German early Techno but still connected with some dynamics of the ‘80s sounds: lashing snares and catchy melodic phrases joined by filthy acid bass lines, highly compressed kicks and 'World music' samples are just some of the most recurring elements.”Hands down mandatory for any dance floor oriented record collection.
Incoming…! 2020 saw Sports Records on the verge of relegation until we made some major mid-season transfers. New styles, personalities and genres come together on SVA02 to complete an all-star squad. Up first on the A1 track, ‘Sensei Slicer’ aka Ruben Lombroso (1/2 of Shampoo Douglas) scores an absolute screamer with ‘Curling Sweepers Club’. The A2 features the return of Goiz under a new alias ‘Doctor Hotdog’, who just re-signed with the club following his success on the first release with his track ‘Ode to Korrupt FM’. The A3 is covered by one of the club’s founding partners Clyde Corley aka Mr. Liquid. ‘Violence Is Not Legal’, the final track on the A-side, seeks to promote peaceful co-existence among the release and its supporters. The B-side hat trick is headed by our dual threat up top, Alec Falconer and Harry Wills aka Snoozin’ B. Their B1 heavy hitter ‘Hot Take’ is a crowd favorite as it kickstarts a winning second half. The B2 track by Masterplan is the match equalizer. The UKG legend splits the visitors’ defence and rams one home for what is sure to be a future fan favorite. The B3 track is the second Mr. Liquid strike of the night, and is the match winning goal nonetheless. 400 copies, vinyl only
Sticking to the format of 4 superlative cuts from equally talented producers, the quality remains unquestionably consistent on Volume 8 of his various artist series.
After launching Remember 430 with Dishmo’s debut EP, the Paris-based label focuses on the work of Mariana EMAUZ Valdetaro, a Portuguese producer, DJ and fashion designer living between Lisbon and Fukuoka in Japan. We are thrilled to release her debut album, which is also the label’s first LP, featuring artwork created by up-and-coming Leipzig artist Lion Sauterleute. With its sincere bangers such as the compelling THE ROOM and the relentless FADO, its deeper cuts like the outstanding SO LOW, the sensual SHADES OF EMPTY and the bouncy digital bonus 16 HOURS and with its intros, outros and other interludes, it’s easy to approach THROUGH as a run of the mill club LP. But it’s so much more than that.Using the grammar of club music, EMAUZ creates lush, hypnotic tunes, reduced in their design, operating as Ganzfeld goggles of sorts so that out of the repetition inherent to any loop-based music, the listeners’ mind can conjure images and sensations that are theirs and theirs alone. And so, after listening to the album and playing it in a variety of contexts for almost a year before its release, it is now clear that THROUGH is a soundtrack. It is the soundtrack for the journeys life asks you to take, both inwards and outwards. It is an album about movement, transition, and the passage from one physical side or state of mind to the other. It is ready for the dancefloor, but in fact invites you to take the energy and clear- headedness prolonged club sessions so often provide, and to harness it when you’re on the move, on foot or in a vehicle, in cities, in nature or in the sky, or when you are listening to it with your eyes closed lying down. It is this dimension that seemed unique and remarkable to me and that made me want to share this music with the world. Keep going, you'll make it through the other side.
