For the next One Instrument Session series, we’re pleased to present the Indonesian artist, Fahmi Mursyid. This mini-album, limited to an edition of 200, includes 6 tracks that take the listener on a warm, experimental journey of varying timbres.The artist has always had a personal interest in traditional Indonesian instruments, specifically from Sundanese culture, the second largest Indonesian ethnic group, native to the western part of the Island of Java.Paying homage to this source of inspiration, he has chosen to use Indonesian instruments for almost all of the tracks on the 12’’. Considering the strict guidelines One Instrument gives the artists, Mursyid has succeeded in getting the most out of his chosen instruments.With each of the 6 different acoustic instruments he has eluded clichè and surpassed physical limitations to shape a bold, alternative musical language.

The third long player on Night Defined Recordings sees SUED affiliate SW. presenting his new mini LP ‘Night’ and walking a tightrope between jazz and club music. The tracks manifest and dematerialize themselves almost in a non-tangible and floating way, which can be seen as more than just a musical approach but rather shows the artist referring to issues of volatility and evanescence. Understory unveils four beautiful works from our dear friend Pîrvu. A champion raver that we have shared many dances with in Berlin, Bucharest and beyond, his deep understanding of this music has led to the formation of a lovely and very personal sound that we have found so refreshing. Four different moods and explorations, psychedelic funk from peak party to ambient depths. With strong support from Rhadoo and Dan Andrei, who have used these to great effect recently, we’re very excited to present this music to the world.

Hame's music is all about shared feelings without the barrier of words. In this three tracker debut EP on the new label of Lola Haro called 'Small Steps', he found the sweet spot between housy energy combined with emotion.His patiently evolving backgrounds combined with subtle energy buildups through themusic keep you in an hypnotic lock on the dance floor.Hushed has a straight forward and groovy low end with energy right from the start, while slowly evolving in a viby detailed trip.Relieve has a more subtle bassline combined with lush percussion elements and a melancholic,yet hopeful human touch - creating a feeling of acquiescence.Moments Like Now is a groovy, deep, club night bomb. Its ever changing yet repetitive lead is carried by a deep sub bassline and a punchy kick that keeps you moving while textures pads and vocals guide you through the track.

Repress with special sticker coming in 2022 <<<Junki Inoue presents the second release on his recently founded label SAISEI from prolific Japanese producer Takuya Sugimoto under his COLOGNe alias. Deep Talk EP features 6 tracks originally released on Japanese CD only label Viola in 1999 and is a snapshot of the elevated warped-techno meets IDM productions Sugimoto is so respected for. Famous for releasing under many synonyms including COLOGNe, Web and Sammansa it was his EVA EP - the first release on FatCat Records in 1996 that stands out in his recording history. The tracks were in fact licenced from Syzygy Records in Japan, which was one of the main Japanese labels including Viola that homed his work during the 90s era he was most productive in. More recently German label Acido released The Sound There, a mini album of previously unreleased Web material recorded between 1994 and 1995 which was released last year in 2020. Deep Talk EP presents 6 tracks of intelligent and elevated techno, which show the balanced and intricate approach Sugimoto applies to his output. It has all the warmth and positive essence of the 90s era of electronic music - combining deep and beautiful sounds with headsy and intricate constructions. This is the first time this music has been made available on the vinyl format. SAISEI is a Japanese word which translates to ‘reproduction’ and ‘to play’ (as in playing records). Japanese culture is widely known for its traditional nature just as much as it is for being forward into the future and this label’s concept does justice to exactly that. Having started digging for records as early as 16 years old, Inoue delved into productions from 1990s Japan to uncover these native gems. SAISEI’s core concept is to recapture and reintroduce unique pieces of Japanese electronic music onto vinyl, to an audience it never reached before as most of this music was only released in Japan.
