As we continue on our journey here at Futurepast, we are pleased to welcome a trio that, for many years, we felt shared our vision, Frak! From Sweden, Frak have been founding an original hardware-based sound since the 80's, first via their own label Borft before collaborating with other labels over three whole decades. On their "Formless Obstruction" EP, Frak have provided a window into the sinister twists and turns of their work. On the A-side, you see creeping Detroit stylings of "Scientific Bella" set against "Wrong Owl" with it's EBM underpinnings and industrial inflections. On the flip, "Concentrated Feed" bubbles next to the razor sharp "Capacity Faun", both are filled with characteristic machine quirks and experimentalism.
“Special delivery for Magic Carpet!” quirky newcomer Lucho delivers a collection of mesmerising booty-shakers for the cult-label’s tenth release.Following a head-turning debut on New York’s Decatur Records in 2021, this EP is brimming with luscious harmonies and generously proportioned basslines that would make your grandpa blush. Family friendly but suitably naughty – this record is the full package.
Impulse Translation is the intergalactic alias of Minimono aka Ennio Colaci and Fabio Corcos, the Florence-based megaminds behind Bosconi Records. Having conquered the physical plane with nearly 20 years of their own productions and 50 Bosconi releases, the duo set their sights on untapped regions of synth and rhythm exploration for this custom-built journey through innerSpace.
